I-Mate release new smartphones under the JAMA series

I-Mate, a Dubai based Windows Mobile provider recently unveiled the i-mate JAMA 101 Windows Mobile 6 Professional smartphone and JAMA 201 Windows Mobile 6 Standard smartphone.


JAMA 101 details:

- GSM/GPRS/EDGE at 900/1800/1900 MHz
- Bluetooth
- No WiFi and 3G
- 2.4" 65K TFT touchscreen
- Samsung CPU at 300 MHz
- 128 MB of ROM and 64 MB RAM, can be extended by microSD memory cards.
- 2 megapixel autofocus camera with flash for photos and videos
- 150 hours standby time, 4 hours talk time

JAMA 201 details:

- GSM/GPRS/EDGE at 900/1800/1900 MHz as well
- Bluetooth
- No WiFi and 3G

- 2.5" 65K TFT LCD (not touchscreen), VGA?
- Samsung CPU at 300 MHz
- 128 MB of ROM and 64 MB RAM, can be extended by microSD memory cards.
- 2 megapixel autofocus camera with flash for photos and videos
- 150 hours standby time, 4 hours talk time.

Samsung SGH-i617 aka BlackJack II

Introducing the new Samsung SGH-i617 aka BlackJack II, the FCC unveiled earlier.


Confirmed specs are:
  1. Windows Mobile 6 Standard
  2. 2 megapixel camera
  3. Frequency: GSM/WCDMA 850/1900
  4. Bluetooth

Wifi support is still unknown.

TouchPal virtual keyboard for Windows Mobile released - with super effective T+ technology

TouchPal is an innovative software keyboard based on T+, which significantly improves the inputting experience on touchscreens of handheld devices. Check out the Youtube video below for a quick tour of the product.



It's impossible to achieve 300 chars/min as shown in the video.

Typing on TouchPal is pretty easy: you just need to tap and slide by your thumb. In most cases, you only need to tap tap tap and use the auto-word predition to input the right word; in other cases, you can slide left/right for a specfic letter, slide up for uppercase, or slide down for a punctuation.

Samsung SGH-i640

Samsung SGH-i640 features Windows Mobile 6 Standard, triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and singleband UMTS/HSDPA and a 2 megapixel main camera. Furthermore the i640 features a 2.4" QVGA screen, the slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the Trackwheel navigation, Bluetooth 2.0 (most likely +EDR), USB 2.0 and a microSD card slot; specs which are the same to the SGH-i620.

Samsung SGH-i780 at Dubai Gitex 2007

During Gitex 2007 trade show in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, several interesting devices were presented, but some of them were no so widely publicized as the other. Interestingly a completely new Samsung phone - Samsung SGH-i780 - was also presented there!
